Avneesh, aka. djA, comes from the small island of Mauritius. He spends all his spare time in music since his early teenage years. He collected various styles of music, for his reference while widening his musical acquaintance. Nowadays he spends his time in record stores and on beatport. He searches for fresh new tunes and also digging the classic beats. Music being his love, he started mixing in the early 2000 and also started to produce his own tunes afterwards. At that time, he mixed using his PC as the needed equipments were either not available on his island or were sold at outrageous prices. In 2004, djA moved to singapore to pursue further studies and learned mixing with vinyls with Singapore DMC winner, dj Koflow. He soon got his first dj set and started his record collection. He played both hip hop and tech house tracks then, he was still trying to find the tunes that would suit his personality. In 2005, he continued exploring various styles and move more to the french scene and was being influenced by Joachim Garraud.

2006 was his year of revelation. After all these years he spent researching music genres and getting familiar with them, he started playing tech-house sets at first after which he moved to electro or minimal for his new sets. He also started playing drum and bass for which he developed a great interest and liking. Being more confident about his mixing skills, he created various mixtapes which he posted on his site. The feedback was really positive and encouraging. He mixed in various private parties in Singapore. In the same year, he made it to the semi-finals for the Singapore Pioneer Dj Quest and performed a warmup set at the Zouk for the finals. In mid 2006, he was contacted by a french web radio, www.radioABF.net, who wanted to use his graphic designer skills. He further moved with part the team to a newly launched radio, namely, CUBERADIO. This was a great opportunity for him to bring his Dj-ing skills to light and became resident dj and mixes next to famous djs.

Avneesh got back to Mauritius at the end of 2006 where he organised a few parties in such a way that a minimum of one party was held weekly during December as it was the peak season. These parties proved to be extremely successful. He played together with several well known Mauritian Djs and he found this experience very enriching and interesting. It was also the opportunity for him to expose his music styles to a new public and again he obtained a huge positive response. In early January 2007, before leaving for Singapore, he made his farewell in the North of the island by throwing a party along with 8 other Djs at N-Gyone Nightclub. Much More to come this year.
